Some of the procedures we commonly perform include:
Sclerotherapy is a common treatment for spider veins and medium size reticular veins, considered cosmetic in nature. A tiny needle is used to inject veins with a solution that causes the veins to collapse and be reabsorbed over the next few weeks. In a typical 30- to 45-minute session, the number of spider veins injected will vary, depending on the size and location of the veins. Patients can drive themselves home after the treatment, resume regular activities and are encouraged to walk.
ENDOVENOUS LASER TREATMENT (ELVT)
With a 95% success rate, ELVT is the most effective treatment for varicose veins and venous insufficiency, a condition that impedes the flow of blood from the veins of the legs back to the heart. Performed under anesthesia, this procedure uses laser energy to close and seal the vein in place, rather than surgically removing it. Recovery is rapid with minimal to no side effects or scarring. Patients are able to walk immediately after the procedure and most are able to return to work the next day.
This procedure is performed using local anesthesia and involves removing smaller varicose veins through a series of tiny skin punctures which leave nearly imperceptible scars.
Graduated compression stockings are an initial therapy for varicose veins to help promote the normal flow of blood up the leg and toward the heart.
